How to get Early Access to the Android 11 update for the Micromax IN Note 1

The company is still working on the Android 11 update for the Micromax IN Note 1, but users can now jump in and try out an early build before everyone else.

Micromax IN Note 1 users can now get a taste of Android 11 via an Early Access Program (Micromax)

We're well past the first quarter of 2021, and manufacturers like Samsung and Xiaomi have pushed out the Android update to many of their eligible devices already. Other manufacturers like HMD Global have pushed the update to a small number of devices, with more expected in the coming months. Micromax is set to join this list, with the arrival of Early Access testing for the Micromax IN Note 1.

Users who want to take Micromax's Android 11 update for a spin on their Micromax IN Note 1 devices can now sign up for the company's Early Access Program to receive a testing version via an over the air update, which the company will reportedly seed to users, the company said in an update posted on their forum on Wednesday.

The company took to its forums to announce the Early Access Program, stating that it was open for IN Community members. “All you've got to do is send us the IMEI numbers and Software Version of your IN note 1 via private message and we will roll out the update on your device,” the forum post states adding that the last date to apply for the Early Access Program is 18th April 2021 at 11:59 PM IST.

If you want to sign up for the update, you must first go to your phone's dialer app and enter *#06# (star-pound-zero-six-pound) which will reveal both IMEI numbers (as the Micromax IN Note 1 is a dual SIM device). If you cannot use this method for some reason, you can try going to Settings > About Phone > IMEI 1 (and the same steps for IMEI 2), then go to Settings >About Phone > Software version. The company will then push the update to eligible users based on the IMEI number and software version installed.

The Micromax IN Note 1 was launched in November with Android 10 out of the box, running MediaTek's Helio G85 processor and a 6.67-inch full HD+ display. The device also features a quad camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 5-megapixel ultrawide lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. On the front, the device sports a 16-megapixel selfie shooter. It supports 18W fast charging for the built-in 5000mAh battery.
