Things have not gone Huawei's way in quite some time. Even as it makes efforts to maintain its business after the US sanctions, the company is reportedly working on a new foldable phone. Dubbed as Mate X2, key specifications of the foldable phone have now leaked online.

According to Digital Chat Station (via GSMArena), Huawei Mate X2 will run on an in-house Kirin 9000 SoC. It will come with an inward folding display. The screen is said to offer a resolution of 2480x2200 pixels. When opened, it will have an 8.01-inch display. There will also be a 6.45-inch secondary display with 2700x1160 pixels resolution.

In the camera department, Huawei Mate X2 is said to come with a 16-megapixel front-facing sensor. On the back, it will have a 50-megapixel primary sensor coupled with 16-megapixel, 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel sensors. The phone will also offer up to 10x optical zoom.

Other leaked features of the Mate X2 are Android 10 and a 4,400mAh battery. The phone will also have 66W fast charging support.

That said, it's not the first time we have leaks around the Mate X2. The phone was last spotted in November at China's TENAA certification website. Reports indicated the phone would launch by the end of 2020. Evidently, it did not happen.

Separately, there are rumours Huawei is working on a foldable phone with a clamshell design, similar to Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Motorola's Razr. The phone is said to have a cover display and twin cameras at the back.

At the moment, there is no word when these smartphones will be officially announced. We are likely to find out more about the phones in the coming days. Until then stay tuned.
