Indian YouTuber commits suicide after views drop on his Valorant game videos; read heart-wrenching note

A YouTuber who used to make Valorant game videos took his life while citing a lack of views on the channel and depression.

Trying to garner subscribers online is very tough and it can drive anxiety and lower self-esteem if success is elusive, especially in youth. An unfortunate event recently highlighted this problem. YouTube creator, with a channel named SeLFlo, committed suicide recently for lack of success on YouTube that led to depression, PTI reported. The YouTuber was from Telangana who used to create content based on the video game Valorant. Shockingly, the fall in views on his YouTube channel became one of the reasons for him to take his own life.

According to the report, police confirmed that the victim was identified as C. Dheena, an IIITM Gwalior student from Telangana. Police further confirmed that the victim jumped from a G+3 structure in the early morning, around 5.30 am. On July 21, just a couple of hours before committing suicide, he uploaded a video on his channel and also took to his Twitter handle to share a long heart-wrenching note via Twitlonger.

Through the online note, SelFLo briefly recalled all about his life and the incident that left him disheartened and which ultimately forced him to take this drastic step. The victim used to share gameplay videos to his "SeLFlo" YouTube channel, which garnered around 29,000 subscribers. Police confirmed that the engineering student listed a lack of viewership on his YouTube videos and lack of support and guidance as the main reasons.

"I know my death won't be remembered much sadly, that's just what I have logically arrived at, for I am Selflo, not a person but a news channel. no face but a voice who loved to interact with the community and who genuinely cared about the community and not like other channels, who wanted to have a better life for the past 5+ years but couldn't," SeLFlo wrote as his last words in the online letter.

As soon as he posted this online suicide note, several followers came forward to comment and offer their support and urge him not to take any such step, but unfortunately, it was too late! Police mentioned that an investigation is currently underway to know the whole story behind the case.
