iOS 16 adds clownfish wallpaper and the Internet goes CRAZY! Wonder why?
iOS 16 beta 3 adds a new clownfish wallpaper that many say is a tribute to Steve Jobs. The wallpaper was last seen on Steve Jobs’ iPhone back in 2007.
Nostalgia is powerful! It lets you relieve those moments in history that you never want to let go of. Something similar is happening to iPhone fans at the moment, especially or those who have installed the latest iOS 16 Beta 3. As part of the routine, the beta 3 added a couple of new features and fixed bugs, but it added something secretly that is simply the biggest and most nostalgic Easter Egg Apple fans could be happy to see. The Easter Egg is simply a wallpaper but it is an iconic one, one that involved Steve Jobs.
As part of the wallpaper collections for the newly revamped lockscreen on iOS 16, Apple has added a new wallpaper with two clownfish on it. While young readers may not know of its importance, the wallpaper was originally used by Steve Jobs during the first iPhone's demo on the stage. This wallpaper was later used on several marketing materials as well. However, iPhone users never got to see the wallpaper on the iPhone and for 15 years, they have been just waiting. Apple seems to have rewarded the patience with iOS 16.
iOS 16 brings back iconic clownfish wallpaper
The wallpaper was first observed by a Twitter user Jack Roberts, and his post was later reshared by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who explained the importance of the wallpaper. Gurman in his tweet says, “Some users appear to be seeing a new Clownfish wallpaper in iOS 16 beta 3. This is the wallpaper Steve Jobs used when the original iPhone was announced in 2007 — but it never actually ever shipped with any iPhone. Here we are 15 years later.”

At the moment, only a few users downloading the iOS 16 Beta 3 have found the clownfish wallpaper. Most users on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max have got it, but some users of other iPhone models say that a simple reboot after the installation shows up the new wallpaper. Given that this is a beta version of iOS 16, it remains to be seen if Apple continues with this and drops it for all users on iOS 16 when it goes live later this year.
iOS 16 has just reached its Developer Beta 3 stage recently and Apple has hinted at a July release for the first public beta. The Public beta allows everyone with a compatible iPhone to test-drive the new iOS before it is released to the public.
