iOS 16 is rolling out, but not for these iPhones! Are you affected? Check full list here
Good news for iPhone 13, iPhone 12, iPhone 11 and other model users as iOS 16 public beta has been rolled out. But THESE iPhone users will not get it.
Apple has begun rolling out the new software update iOS 16 public beta programme for iPhone users. This means you can install the new software long before it's final official roll out, which is expected in September. Do remember that public beta means you can download it, but this is not the final iOS 16 version and that it may have some bugs and glitches. Currently it is available for testing and Apple has urged users to report bugs, incompatibilities, or glitches found in the early software so that they can make fixes before its official launch. The tech giant has advised users to not download the iOS 16 beta on their primary iPhone, instead use a secondary iPhone to avoid any phone crashes or other unexpected event as the software is still under development. This will surely excite iPhone fans, but unfortunately, some users of old iPhones will be disappointed as support to their smartphones has been killed- they will not be able to download iOS 16.
While iPhone fans must be super excited to access the new features that iOS 16 has brought, not all iPhones would support this new software update. Apple has dropped the software update support from older iPhone models due to camera and hardware limitations. Check out the list of iPhones that would not get the iOS 16 update
THESE iPhone users will be disappointed:
Those who are using older iPhones like iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, and the original iPhone SE, iPhone 7 and iPod touch won't be able to access the iOS 16 update. This means iOS 16 requires the A10 chipset as the minimum hardware specs to support the device.
Apple announced its all-new iOS 16 operating system in June 2022 during its annual developer conference WWDC 2022 and since then iPhone fans have been waiting for its launch. The new software update has brought some of the much awaited changes in years. From a whole new Lock Screen which is fully customisable to always-on display, edit sent messages and much more, the iOS 16 update brought all the exciting features that iPhone users have been waiting for. The new customisable lock screen will let users automatically set different wallpapers throughout the day, add info-packed widgets and change the styles and colors depending on their mood.
