Apple launched the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models yesterday, the latest addition to the company's smartphone portfolio that feature a much faster processor, 5G connectivity, improved cameras and displays among others. The iPhone 13 series, however, adds another useful feature in terms of connectivity – the ability to use two of your phone numbers as eSIMs at the same time, according to a new report. This is the first time that Apple has done this with its iPhones. Earlier, you could not use 2 eSIM on an iPhone. This is the network feature that all the new smartphones launched including iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max, will all support out of the box.

This isn't the first time that Apple is announcing support for eSIM connectivity – the first iPhone to arrive with eSIM support was the iPhone XR over three years ago. However, the support for adding an eSIM was limited to the second SIM card, which means you would still need to add a physical SIM card for your primary phone number. This is changing with the launch of the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models, according to a report by 9to5Mac.

With the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro models, Apple has now officially mentioned support for “Dual eSIM” on the company's official web pages for the iPhone models. This means that the iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13, iPhone 13 Pro, and iPhone 13 Pro Max will all support Dual SIM which is the old combination of a physical nano SIM and an eSIM, or Dual eSIM mode where a user sets up both SIM cards as eSIMs.

However, as GSMArena notes, the addition of Dual eSIM support does not mean that you can add a physical nano SIM card and then add two eSIMs on top. Users will just have the option of using a dual SIM setup on their iPhone 13 or iPhone 13 Pro model without having to insert a physical SIM.

Customers who are looking to buy the new Apple iPhones should know that Phone 13 mini price in India starts at 69,900 while the iPhone 13 price in India 79,990.
