iPhone SE 3, iPad Air 5 CONFIRMED by website placeholders ahead of Apple Event

The Apple event on March 8 has been expected to spawn a new iPhone SE with 5G connectivity, a new iPad Air, and a range of new MacBook models. Apple has been teasing the “peek performance” on these products, which suggests the event will revolve around the upgraded chipset. While Apple is yet to confirm or deny on these products, a retailer in Asia has given us a mega hint that there are plans indeed for the iPhone SE 3 and a new iPad Air.

Based on a report from 91Mobiles, it is said that an Asian carrier has used placeholder images of the iPhone SE and the iPad Air on its website ahead of the Apple Event. These carriers often keep things ready beforehand, so that as soon as the announcement happens, the updated images and specs are reflected on the website. Apple, unlike other brands, does not hand out the press materials ahead of the announcement.

The iPhone SE 3 is expected to be a big announcement for Apple this year. Apple has let the 2020 iPhone SE soldier on for the brand in the affordable smartphone space and it wants to bolster it with updated specifications and features. All rumours have pointed out at mildly refreshed version of the 2020 iPhone SE with a new A15 chip from the iPhone 13 and support for the 5G connectivity. The rest of the phone is expected to remain identical to the old model.

That means the iPhone SE 3 could retain the same 4.7-inch LCD display with the fat bezels on the sides, and a Touch ID fingerprint scanner on the Home button. The phone is expected to have the same 12MP single rear camera and a 7MP front camera. The new iPhone SE 3 could keep the battery capacity unchanged along with its charging speeds.

Rumours also have it that Apple will continue to sell the 4G iPhone SE but at a lower price. This will help Apple have a lower entry-point into the Apple ecosystem. Some suggest that the price of the old model could drop below Rs. 20,000 in India, while the iPhone SE 3 could cost under Rs. 30,000.

The new iPad Air is also expected to be an internal update instead of a major makeover. This one is also said to retain the same design and basic features but use a faster A15 chip with 5G connectivity.
