iPhone SE 4 leaks are out once again and it doesn't need to be specified anymore that it could be a rebadged iPhone XR. Based on Jon Prosser's recent leak, the iPhone SE 4 may not look any different from the iPhone XR. This has been normal for the iPhone SE lineup, considering this is where all older iPhone models find a new life after getting discontinued. The current iPhone SE 3rd Gen is based on iPhone 8 from 2017, while the original iPhone SE was based on the iPhone 5S.

Selling a reworked iPhone XR in 2023 might sound like a bad deal for many, and may leave many users disappointed. However, the iPhone SE 4 as a refreshed iPhone XR could threaten the existence of the iPhone 13 and even the iPhone 14. In fact, Apple may need to work heavily on its standard iPhone 15 to keep it relevant if this iPhone SE 4 drops as a fortified iPhone XR. Wonder why? Have a look.

iPhone SE 4: Why it could kill iPhone 13 and iPhone 14?

- The iPhone SE 4 will have almost all the basics that one expects from a high end iPhone. Considering all the features of the iPhone XR, this new iPhone SE will have a large 6.1-inch display, a FaceID system for verification, a modern-ish iPhone design, a reliable main 12MP camera, and a solid build quality. These basic features are available on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14. But the iPhone SE will offer these at a much lower price.

- The iPhone SE 4 could reuse the A15 Bionic chip with 5-core GPU, if Apple launches it in 2023. If the launch moves to 2024, Apple could give it the A16 Bionic or even the A17 Bionic chips. This could alone make the iPhone SE 4 as, if not more, powerful than the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14.

- The iPhone XR had a stellar battery life to offer and if the same trickles down to the iPhone SE 4, it could be a big deal for buyers. After all, the cheapest iPhone will finally have a good battery life to offer – something that the iPhone SE has never enjoyed in the past.

- The single 12MP camera maybe irksome to many but in reality, how many people use an ultra-wide camera. The iPhone XR had a great camera for its time and with the new Photonic Engine, you can expect much better image quality. Hence, the differences in the real world could be negligible with regards to the overall photo quality.

- You will also get the Face ID system on the iPhone XR, which is a big deal for many, although with the older larger notch.

- Most importantly, Apple could launch the iPhone SE 4 with a USB-C port and that could make it future-proof; the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 still rock the old Lightning port, and it is unlikely that Apple will re-engineer these models for USB-C.

- Due to the rising costs, Apple could continue selling the iPhone SE 3rd Gen as its cheapest smartphone, while the iPhone SE 4th Gen could sit at a slightly higher price to replace the iPhone 13 – just like the new iPad lineup.

Note that the iPhone SE 4 is still a part of speculations and rumours. Hence, you should wait for an official update from Apple on this front.
