Microsoft unveiled its first dual-screen smartphone ‘Surface Duo' last October. It has now finally announced the launch date of Surface Duo, and even its price tag. Microsoft showed off the Surface Duo along with the Surface Neo dual-screen laptop, Surface Laptop 3, Surface Pro 7 and the Surface Pro X.

Microsoft Surface Duo will be available for purchase first in the US, and it's set to launch on September 10. The dual-screen Android smartphone is priced at $1,399 which translates to roughly 1,04,600. Pre-orders for the Surface Duo will go live starting today via Microsoft's online store and other platforms, according to The Verge.

The Surface Duo looks like a small book with a very visible hinge separating the two screens. But both displays can be stretched out to form an 8.2-inch PixelSense Fusion display. Individually, the Surface Duo has two 5.6-inch OLED displays with Gorilla Glass layered on top. The dual-screen phone also comes with a dedicated stylus pen for illustrating or taking notes on the Surface Duo.

The Surface Duo has an 11-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture. This is the only camera you'll find on the Surface Duo. It has features such as low light optimisation, HDR, 7x zoom, 4K video recording and electronic image stabilisation.

It's powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset paired with 6GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The smartphone has two batteries combined to offer a total capacity of 3,577mAh. Microsoft says the Surface Duo will offer up to 15.5 hours of local video playback, and up to 10 days of standby time.

Microsoft hasn't announced the Surface Duo's global availability yet. Even so, it would take a few months for the Surface Duo to arrive in India like we've seen with other Surface products.
