Moto G Play with SD 460 processor, HD+ display to launch next year

A Google Play Console listing reveals key specifications of the upcoming Moto G Play.

Motorola will continue to expand its popular G series with new phones early next year. The next member to join the budget and mid-range series is Moto G Play (2021). Ahead of the official launch, the smartphone has made an appearance on Google Play Console. As expected, the listing reveals some important features of the upcoming phone.

According to the listing, Moto G Play (2021) will run on Qualcomm's entry-level Snapdragon 460 processor. The phone is said to come with HD+ display and Android 10 out-of-the-box. The upcoming Motorola phone is likely to have at least 3GB of RAM.

Apart from key specifications, the listing also features a low-res render of the G Play (2021). The render reveals a dewdrop-like notch on the front with fairly large bezels on the side. The notch houses the front-facing camera. Power and volume buttons are on the right edge. The render does not reveal the back panel. The phone is likely to house a rear-facing fingerprint sensor as well.

Moto G Play (2021) is expected to launch early next year. The smartphone will follow the recently launched Moto G 5G, which is touted as India's most affordable 5G ready phone. Unlike the G Play, Moto G 5G is closer to the mid-range segment with price at ₹20,999.

The 5G phone has a 6.7-inch Max Vision HDR 10 display with 20:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 750G processor coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB built-in storage. It runs on runs on a 5,000mAh battery with TurboPower 20W charging support. Moto G 5G has as many as three rear cameras -- 48-megapixel f/1.7 primary sensor an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies, Moto G 5G comes with a 16-megapixel punch-hole camera.
