No SIM card for Apple iPhone 15 Pro? Check out the fancy tech
Apple iPhone 15 Pro will remove physical SIM card slots, reveals report.
Apple iPhone 14 is still months away from launch. However, in a bizarre sort of way, the rumors around the features that the 2023 models, presumably called Apple iPhone 15, have already started making their way to the internet. The iPhone 15 Pro model is rumored to be getting rid of the physical SIM card slot. Apple Inc, which introduced support for eSIM on its iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max, is now reportedly planning to ditch the physical SIM card slot from the future iPhones.
Apple iPhone 15 features tipped
A Brazilian publication has reported that the Apple iPhone 2023's Pro models, iPhone 15 Pro, will not have physical SIM card slots and will feature eSIM technology for connectivity. The upcoming iPhones are speculated to come with dual eSIM support. However, it's not clear if the non-Pro models will have the physical SIM card slot or they too will rely on eSIM technology for connectivity.
That Apple's planning to ditch the SIM card slot is not that surprising as the tech giant is said to eventually move to a portless iPhone, and ditching the physical SIM card slot looks like the first step to that.
Though Apple might launch an iPhone without a SIM card slot, the company is expected to continue to offer a version with a physical SIM slot in countries where eSIM service is unavailable.
However, these are just rumors and it is too early to say something about the features of iPhone 15 which might get launched in 2023. These all are speculations and there's no concrete evidence to back any of these reports. Earlier, rumors about Apple planning to remove the Lightning port from its iPhones had surfaced on the internet too. However, ultimately, there is so much interest in the iPhone topic that even the slightest information gets blown out of proportion.
Indubitably, the tech giant has been introducing new features for its users regularly. The company first introduced Qi wireless charging technology in its iPhones back in 2017 with the launch of the iPhone 8 series and the iPhone X. In 2020, Apple also introduced a host of MagSafe-branded wireless charging devices.
What the latest rumor does is hint that the company is inching closer to introducing portless iPhones, one upgrade, or device, at a time.
