Nokia 5.3 confirmed to launch in India soon, here’s all you need to know

HMD Global will soon launch a new budget smartphone in India. Here are key specifications, features, and expected price of the new Nokia 5.3.

After a spate of rumours and leaks, HMD Global has confirmed Nokia 5.3 is coming to India very soon. The company has not announced an official launch date yet, but it is hosting a virtual briefing for the same on August 25. Nokia 5.3 is likely to go official by the end of this month.

Last Nokia phone had landed in India in June this year. HMD Global had launched the Nokia 5310 Xpress Music feature phone in India. The feature phone is part of Nokia's Classics series of phones which features the likes of Nokia 105 and Nokia 3310.

That said, HMD Global has already launched Nokia 5.3 in Europe. The smartphone is priced at Eur 189, which is ₹16,800. We are expecting the phone to launch in India at a much lower price.

Nokia 5.3 key features, specifications

The upcoming Nokia 5.3 sports a 6.55-inch HD+ display with a waterdrop notch on the front. It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor coupled with up to 6GB of RAM. The phone also comes in 3GB and 4GB RAM options. Nokia 5.3 ships with 64GB built-in storage and supports expandable storage up to 512GB.

For photography, Nokia 5.3 features a quad-camera setup which consists of 13-megapixel, 2-megapixel depth sensor, 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. It features an 8-megapixel front camera for selfies.

Nokia 5.3 packs a 4,000mAh battery. On the software front, Nokia 5.3 runs Android 10 and is based on Google's Android One platform. The phone comes in Cyan, Sand and Charcoal colour options. Nokia 5.3 also comes with the 3.5mm headphone jack. It houses a dedicated Google Assistant button like most other Nokia phones.

Nokia 5.3 is not the only new Nokia phone that is coming in the future. HMD Global is planning to launch a premium Nokia 9 PureView and other phones such as Nokia 7.3 5G, Nokia 6.3, Nokia 2.4, and Nokia 3.4. These new phones are expected to go official next month.
