Nothing Phone (1) new photos show more iPhone 13-like design cues

Nothing Phone (1) leaked renders of the black variant shows the phone’s new sides and the new black variant.

Nothing Phone (1) is shaping up to be one of the most interesting smartphone launches, beating almost everything else in terms of hype. By now, we have seen how the phone looks and have a fair idea of what it contains within. However, the renders that Nothing has revealed are only of the while variant and rumours have been talking about a black variant. Thanks to today's leak, we now know how the black variant looks. Spoiler alert – we like better than the white variant of the phone.

Courtesy of the leaked renders from WinFuture, we get a good look at the black variant of the Nothing Phone (1). The front of the phone is shown in all its glory, flaunting its uniform and slim bezels as well as the tiny camera cutout. Nothing unusual here. Look at the sides and the they are exactly as flat as the sides on the iPhone 12 or iPhone 13. The key placements are also largely similar to that on the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13. Hence, those switching from a modern iPhone will find it easy to adapt.

The rear of the black Phone (1) is almost the same as the white one, except for variation in the colour shades. Even without the hyped Glyph interface LED lights, the phone stands out from any other black smartphones we have seen lately. The phone still has a dual camera setup on the back, and a wireless charging coil.

Nothing has only floated the waitlist for the Phone (1) that will allow a lucky few to pre-order the phone. Rumours suggest that the Phone (1) will start just under Rs. 35,000 in India and will be among the more powerful midrange Android phones. The chipset is said to be the updated Snapdragon 778G+, which we recently saw doing duty on the Motorola Edge 30. The phone will be serviced by a 4500mAh battery along with support for 45W wired charging and 5W wireless charging.

The phone is also expected to flaunt a 50MP + 16MP dual rear camera setup, as well as a 16MP front camera. The front will be dominated by a 6.5-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz. The phone will boot Nothing OS based on Android 12 out of the box.
