Poco rebrands Redmi devices – that's not new. What's new now is that Redmi does the same on Poco! Not exactly a rebrand, considering all of Poco's devices are designed and manufactured by Xiaomi, despite Poco being presented as an independent brand. Remember the Poco M4 Pro 5G? Yes, that budget phone that puts the iQOO 9 Pro in discomfort with its fake massive camera island on the rear. That phone is getting a Redmi rebrand, expected to be called the Redmi Note 11S 5G.

The long-rumoured Redmi Note 11S 5G has just passed the FCC certifications and one look at its specs details reveals it is nothing different than the Poco M4 Pro 5G. But wait, wasn't the Redmi Note 11T 5G the base for the Poco M4 Pro 5G? And wasn't the Redmi Note 11T 5G simply a renamed version of the Chinese Redmi Note 11 5G from China? There's a lot of renaming happening within the Xiaomi universe this year.

Redmi Note 11S 5G details leak

The Redmi Note 11 series has already spawned five models so far. It started with the Redmi Note 11T 5G that launched in November 2021. Earlier this year, Redmi then announced the Redmi Note 11 and Redmi Note 11S 4G variants in India as the replacement models of the Redmi Note 10 series. And earlier this week, we got to see the Redmi Note 11 Pro 4G and Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus 5G.

In the midst of all this, the Poco M4 Pro 5G launched in India as a renamed and redesigned Redmi Note 11T 5G, carrying the exact same specs but with a lower RAM/Storage variant and price. Then came the Poco M4 Pro 4G, which is essentially a mildly reworked variant of the Redmi Note 11S, carrying a new 64MP main camera and a new design.

Redmi and Poco are currently bombarding the affordable segment of smartphones in India with mildly tweaked variants of the same. However, the upcoming Redmi 10 is expected to be a new phone replacing the ageing Redmi 9 series.

On the other hand, Xiaomi is also rumoured to bring its Xiaomi 12 series flagship to India soon. The Xiaomi 12 is expected to take on the likes of the iQOO 9 Pro, Motorola Edge 30 Pro, and Samsung Galaxy S22.
