Okay leaksters, we get it! The iPhone SE 3 is an iPhone SE 2020 with 5G
The iPhone SE 3 leaks have once again hinted at a minor spec bump of the current-gen iPhone SE. Take a look.
iPhone SE 3, or iPhone SE 2022: Even though Apple is yet to break silence over the next most hyped iPhone, leaks keep revealing more information as the speculated launch date nears. By now, we know that the iPhone SE 3 will essentially be the same iPhone SE 2020 with just a chipset upgrade, and that a full revamp is due for 2024.
Now, another analyst has spoken about the iPhone SE 3 and it's the same bit of information that we have known for a very long time. Dylan, an Apple developer with a decent track record of Apple leaks, says that the iPhone SE 3 will essentially be the iPhone SE 2022 with 5G. That will be the only spec bump; the rest of the phone remains identical to the current model.
iPhone SE 3 details confirmed by leakster
On the other hand, he says that a fully redesigned iPhone SE is coming in 2024. This model will be based on the ageing iPhone 11/XR and may feature a similar IPS LCD display, albeit in a smaller size. No other details about this iPhone SE have been obtained yet.
While Dylan doesn't comment on the one spec bump reserved for the iPhone SE 5G, previous leaks hint at Apple using the A15 Bionic from the iPhone 13. The Apple A15 will not only bring support for 5G networks to the most affordable iPhone of the lineup but will also bring a notable performance boost compared to the A13 chip on the current model.
What remains to be seen is whether Apple fixes some of other flaws the current iPhone SE suffer. Battery life on the iPhone SE 2020 isn't great and with 5G connectivity, it could only make it worse if Apple does not upgrade the battery capacity.
While the compact design of the iPhone SE is handy, its 4.7-inch display is comparatively tiny when compared to the iPhone 13 Mini, the latter being slightly smaller in dimensions than the SE.
Note that these are all leaks and Apple in the recent past has proven them wrong. Hence, don't believe on these blindly.
