Oppo A53 launched in India, price starts at 12,990, check full specs

Oppo’s A53 has officially launched in India. Check full specifications, features, and price of the latest budget smartphone in India. Also, how it compares with HMD Global’s new Nokia 5.3.

Oppo on Tuesday officially launched A53 in India. The new smartphone is available for purchase starting today for a starting price of 12,990. The top-end model with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at 15,490. It comes in three colour options – Electric Black, Fairy White, and Fancy Blue.

Oppo is also bundling a few offers for customers who purchase the phone offline. The company is giving a 5% cashback on Bank of Baroda credit cards and Federal Bank debit cards with no cost EMI up to 6 months. There are also zero down payment finance schemes.

Oppo A53 Specifications

Oppo A53 is around 8.4mm slim and weighs around 186 grams. The phone comes with a 6.5-inch HD+ display. A53 is also Oppo's first budget smartphone with a 90Hz refresh rate. It also has up to 120Hz sampling rate.

It runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 460 processor coupled with 4GB/64GB and 6GB/128GB RAM and storage. The phone is powered by a 5,000mAh battery with an 18W fast charging support. On the software front, it runs on Android 10-based ColorOS.

Oppo A53 sports as many as three rear cameras. The configuration includes a 13-megapixel primary sensor, 2-megapixel macro sensor, and 2-megapixel depth sensor. On the front, it has a 16-megapixel selfie camera.

The phone comes with a bunch of software-level optimisations as well. For instance, it has a RAM+ Anti-lag Memory Optimisation for a smoother experience.

“OPPO's Music Party introduces a fun way to replicate surround sound and liven up any party by synchronously connecting multiple phones to the same LAN connection. The Multi-User Mode keeps the user's personal data safe and allows them to set up independent spaces to save password lock sensitive files,” said Oppo in a release.

Oppo A53 vs Nokia 5.3

Oppo's new phone will compete with HMD Global's new Nokia 5.3 which also launched in India today. The Nokia 5.3 phone will be available in India for a starting price of 13,999.

Nokia 5.3 has a 6.55-inch HD+ display. It features four rear cameras including a 13-megapixel primary sensor, 2-megapixel depth sensor, 5-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and 2-megapixel macro sensor. For selfies, it comes with an 8-megapixel front camera. Nokia 5.3 is powered by a 4,000mAh battery, and a USB Type-C port.
