Oppo on Tuesday announced the launch of A53s 5G in India. The smartphone is available in two variants -- 6GB RAM + 128GB ROM for 14,990 and 8GB RAM + 128GB ROM for 16,990. It comes in Crystal Blue and Ink Black colour options. The handset will go on sale on May 2 via Flipkart and retail outlets.

Oppo is offering a 5% cashback from HDFC Bank, Standard Chartered, Kotak Bank, Bank of Baroda and Federal Bank on buying the phone through retail outlets. The company also has a zero down payment scheme from its finance partners and a no-cost EMI of up to 6 months with 1 year of extended warranty. Customers paying via Paytm will receive 11% cashback.

On Flipkart, customers will be eligible for a flat 1,250 instant discount on HDFC Bank cards and Credit Card EMI transactions. They will also get a 2 Years Warranty (1 year extended), up to 70% buy-back at  Re 1, and no-cost EMI up to 9 months.

The handset comes with a 6.5-inch waterdrop display and an 89% screen-to-body ratio. The display comes with a bunch of modes such as Night mode, Eye comfort mode, and low-brightness flicker-free mode.

Oppo A53s 5G comes with support for Dual SIM Dual Standby (5G). It runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor with up to 8GB of RAM. It comes with 128GB of built-in storage. It packs a 5,000mAh battery, which is said to deliver a talk time of 37.8 hours and video playback for 17.7hours.

In the photography department, Oppo A53s 5G comes with an AI triple camera. The phone has a 13-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel portrait sensor and a 2-megapixel macro sensor. The handset comes with up to 15 photo filters and 10 video filters. The preloaded AI Scene Recognition helps recognise up to 22 different photography scenarios. On the front, there is an 8-megapixel selfie camera.

It comes with ColorOS 11 out-of-the-box. Other features on the phone are Text Scanner (for converting a photo of a document into an editable text file), System Booster (said to help boost phone's speed by intelligently reallocating system resources to preload your most-used apps, which means 20% faster load times), and FlexDrop (for multitasking). The phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader.
