Oppo K10 could upset Redmi, Realme, Motorola from March 23; Here is why
The Oppo K10 will be the first model in the Oppo K series lineup in India. It will be solely available on the online marketplace.
Oppo K10 will be the company's newest phone kickstarting a new K series of smartphone lineup. Oppo has been focusing on the offline market with its current crop of smartphones and with K series, it will now follow an online-only strategy. The K10 will be the first model in the lineup and will be announced on March 23 via on online event. Oppo has already shows us a glimpse of the phone's design and colours.
Sadly, the basic specifications are yet to be revealed but based on the teaser page, it seems the phone will use a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip. Since there's no mention of 5G connectivity in the teasers, it seems this could be a 4G smartphone based on the Snapdragon 680 chip, similar to the likes of the Redmi Note 11 and Realme 9i. Oppo will reveal more details in the days to come.
Oppo K10 launching soon in India
“The K series aims at addressing the daily needs of its on-the-move users by offering them value-for-money technology solutions in feature-rich power-packed devices,” says Oppo in a media note.
“The K10 is an all-rounder smartphone that supports AI Enhanced camera features inherited from Oppo flagship phones; it packs dynamic memory through RAM expansion technology, a lightning-fast charging experience, and a premium two-toned scratch-resistant back with Oppo's proprietary Glow design. The device will run ColorOS that supports 11 Indian languages,” it adds.
The official renders reveal a 50MP main rear camera that is accompanied by another camera of unknown kind. The phone will get a matte finish on the rear, and some interesting design elements to spice up the phone. A USB-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack are also present on these devices.
What remains to be seen is how Oppo prices the K10 in India and whether it could upset the established players in the affordable smartphone space. Currently, the sub- ₹15,000 space is dominated by the likes of the Redmi Note 11, Realme 9i, Motorola Moto G31, and a few others. Will the Oppo K10 undercut these phones with its price, or try to be more competitive? We will have to wait and see.
