Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G First Impressions: Worth the attention!
The Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G is the latest addition to the company's Reno series. But does the phone impress? Find it out here.
Oppo has been trying to give a unique and beautiful touch to the phones it is launching this year. Right from the Oppo Reno 7 series, Oppo F21 Pro, and now the latest addition- the Oppo Reno 8 series, the company has made several changes to the design of the smartphones. With a minimal and classy look, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G is all set to grab eyeballs. Of course, for what Oppo is known for, the Reno 8 Pro 5G also promises to offer great camera performance. Well, cannot disclose much, but here's my first impressions of this sleek and beautiful-looking feature-rich smartphone.
Starting with the basic details, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G is priced at Rs. 45,999 and is available only in one storage variant- 12GB RAM and 256GB storage. Also, the company is offering two elegant color options to choose from- Glazed Green and Glazed Black. After spending a few days with the phone in Glazed Green color, here are my first impression of the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G:
Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G: Design and Display
Being a mid-range segment phone, the design of Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G is something you are getting at par. Holding the smartphone in your hand gives you a premium feel. The phone gets a glass back cover eliminating the need for a standalone camera bump, with a smooth transition being created to house the camera on the back cover instead. The Reno 8 Pro is light (183 g) and thin (7.34 mm) and gets a boxy look thus making it very comfortable to hold and use. However, the back panel does attract smudges and finger impressions. The cameras are paired with the Ring Flash on the rear which enhances the beauty of the phone.
mobile to buy?
Moving to the front, the Reno 8 Pro 5G holds a 6.7-inch Full HD AMOLED display with unbelievably slim bezels and a refresh rate of 120Hz (Max). So far, using the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G has been fun. The display is smooth and it feels flawless while scrolling. May it be playing games, watching videos, or scrolling social media platforms, everything seemed great as of yet. But like every other Oppo phone, the Reno 8 Pro 5G too contains several preloaded apps and bloatware. However, if you want to know more, you need to wait for our review in the coming days.
Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G: Features and specifications at a glance
Getting power from MediaTek Dimensity 8100-MAX 5G SoC, the Oppo Reno 8 Pro 5G, promises to offer a great performance experience with ColorOS12.1 on top of Android 12. The phone manages to handle every task with ease without showing any sign of lag.
When it comes to the camera, powered by Oppo's MariSilicon X Imaging NPU and Dual Sony Flagship Sensors (IMX766 & IMX709), the Reno 8 Pro 5G is said to enable enhanced portrait imaging capabilities. The phone comes with a triple rear camera system, featuring a 50MP main camera, 8MP wide-angle camera, and 2MP macro camera. At the front, you get a 32MP selfie camera along with Sony IMX709 RGBW Sensor.
After using the camera for a few days, all I can reveal for the time being is that- they are pretty satisfactory! Tough, the pictures seemed a bit brightened, overall the output was great, especially the ones clicked at night looked amazing. And yes, wait to know more about the camera performance in the full review.
Coming to the battery life, the Reno 8 Pro 5G is equipped with a 4,500mAh battery and gets the support of the 80W SUPERVOOC charger, which is claimed to charge 50 percent of the battery in 11 minutes. I won't be able to comment on its performance as of now, but it is fast!
