Poco on Friday announced a testing programme for MIUI 12.5 Global Stable ROM for select handsets.

The eligible phones are Poco F3, Poco X3 Pro, Poco X3/NFC, Poco F2 Pro, Poco X2, Poco M3, Poco M2, Poco M2 Pro and Poco C3. The eligibility also depends on the regions they are available. You can check out the full details of the testing programme here.

As GSMArena points out, Poco F1 is missing from the list of phones eligible for the new testing programme. But it does not mean the update will not be available for the phone.

Earlier this month, Xiaomi began rolling out MIUI 12.5 stable update to seven devices. The OTA update rolled out to Mi 11 Ultra, Mi 11 Pro, Mi 11, Mi 10 Ultra, Mi 10 Pro, Mi 10, and Mi 9 SE.

Xiaomi's latest MIUI 12.5 update is said to make the software faster, lighter, and more efficient. It is also said to be less resource-intensive. The update brings a wide range of new features such as improved gestures, animations, response time, and privacy features. It also includes new Super Wallpapers and notification sounds and haptics.

As far as privacy protection goes, the update comes with Clipboard protection, File storage (Isolation), Browser, and Location (Non-precise positioning).

One of the highlights of the update is MIUI 12+. It allows users to mirror their phone to a Windows PC. It's similar to the Your Phone application. The feature lets you view phone notification on the desktop as well as use select applications. The app also allows users to access basic features such as copy text on the phone and paste it on the desktop.
