Realme 8 5G could come with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, Android 11
The 5G version of Realme 8 is inching closer to the official launch. Here is what we know about the handset so far.
Realme will soon launch the 5G version of its latest Realme 8 smartphone. There is no official launch date yet, but the phone has been spotted on different certification websites. Dubbed as Realme 8 5G, the phone has now appeared on the US FCC website.
According to the listing, the Realme 8 5G will come with a 5,000mAh battery. It will run on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 out-of-the-box. The listing further reveals the phone has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The phone will be 8.5mm thick and weigh around 185 grams. The listing also says the phone will have NFC connectivity.
For perspective, the 4G version of Realme 8 is lighter and comes with an in-screen fingerprint sensor. GSMArena suggests the 5G version may also come with an AMOLED panel.

Realme 8 series has just launched in India. The lineup features Realme 8 and Realme 8 Pro.
Realme 8 comes in two models, 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB, priced at ₹14,999 and ₹15,999, respectively. The Pro model also comes in two options, 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB, priced at ₹17,999 and ₹19,999, respectively.
Realme 8 comes with a 6.4-inch full HD display. It runs on a MediaTek Helio G95 processor. The phone has a quad-camera setup with a 64-megapixel primary sensor. The other sensors onboard are an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens and a 2-megapixel black and white lens. On the front, it has a 16MP selfie camera. It also comes with a large 5,000mAh battery with support for 30W Dart Charge technology.
As far as the Pro model goes, it comes with a 6.4-inch super AMOLED full-screen display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It runs on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC.
It also comes with a quad-rear camera setup consisting of a 108MP primary camera with Samsung's ISOCELL HM2 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens and a 2MP black and white lens. On the front, it has a 16MP selfie camera. The phone runs on a large 4,500mAh battery with support for 50W SuperDart Charge technology.
