Realme 8 5G to launch in India on April 22
Realme 8 5G will be the first phone in India to launch with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset.
Realme has announced the launch date for its next 5G smartphone in India. It's the Realme 8 5G and it will be the first phone in India with the MediaTek Dimensity 700 chipset. The smartphone is scheduled to launch on April 22.
Realme has scheduled a digital event for the launch of its upcoming 5G phone in India. It will take place on April 22 at 12:30 pm, and the event will be live streamed on Realme's YouTube and Facebook channels. The company has so far only revealed that the Realme 8 5G will be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. The MediaTek chipset which is built on the 7nm process and is said to be 28% more power efficient than 8nm. The chipset can be clocked up to 2.2GHz and is paired with ARM Mali-G57 GPU.
The invite also shows that the Realme 8 5G will feature a punch-hole display, and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Realme 8 5G was recently spotted on Geekbench with 8GB of RAM and a full HD+ display. The smartphone will also run Android 11 out-of-the-box.
Some reports also suggest that Realme 8 5G will be a rebranded version of the Realme V13 5G that launched in China. Going by this speculation, Realme 8 5G will come with a 6.5-inch display with full HD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone features an 8-megapixel camera, and a triple rear camera setup that consists of a 48-megapixel primary sensor, a 2-megapixel macro sensor, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor.
Realme V13 5G also runs on a MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor. The phone is available in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB RAM and storage combinations. On the software front, it has Android 11 with Realme UI 2.0 on top. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.
