The Realme GT 2 series flagships are coming to India soon! Announced in global markets a few months ago, the Realme GT 2 series consists of a standard GT 2 and a GT 2 Pro, both varying in terms of the chipsets used within. Both these models are expected to take on from the Realme GT flagship launched last year, although the Pro variant could take the fight to the Motorola Edge 30 Pro and the iQOO 9 Pro. The standard Realme GT 2 could take on the recently announced Apple iPhone SE 3, or the “new” iPhone SE. In the midst of all this, the Xiaomi 12 series is also expected to launch by the end of March 2022, or early April.

“The wait is over! Arriving soon in India and it's going to be. #GreaterThanYouSee. Stay tuned!,” says Realme in its teaser post. The post also accompanies a covered phone that highlights the curves of the Realme GT 2 Pro Master Edition. It remains to be seen whether Realme brings the regular Realme GT 2 to our shores.

Realme GT 2 series features at a glance

The Realme GT 2 series consists of the Realme GT 2 Pro, which is the absolute flagship model in the lineup. This one uses the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and gets a paper-like texture that is kinder to the nature. The phone gets a 6.67-inch 120Hz AMOLED display with very slim bezels, a Quad HD+ resolution, and a camera cutout for the selfie camera. For its cameras, there is a triple camera setup on the back, comprising of the 50MP main camera with Sony IMX766 sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP tertiary camera. The front camera relies on a 32MP sensor.

The Realme GT 2 Pro boots Android 12 based Realme UI 3 out of the box. The phone uses a 5000mAh battery and comes with the 65W wired charging solution.

The Realme GT 2, on the other hand, is a watered down version with a couple of compromises. You get the older Snapdragon 888 chip, a 16MP front camera among the other downgrades. You also get the same 50MP IMX766 main camera but only an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera.

The launch comes on the heels of Realme launching its complete Realme 9 series in India, which now consists of the Realme 9i, Realme 9 5G, Realme 9 SE, Realme 9 Pro, and Realme 9 Pro Plus.
