Realme has a thing for suitcases and it loves to launch a phone every year that looks like one! After the impressive Realme GT Master Edition last year, we have the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition following the same path. Instead of looking like a regular travel bag, this one looks like Travel Trunk, especially with its metallic rivets design and matte sides. The phone is only available in the Chinese market for now but Realme is yet to comment on its global availability.

The Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition comes in 8+128GB, 8+256GB, 12+256GB storage variants, priced at RMB 3499, RMB 3799, RMB 3999 respectively. Hence, if it launches India, we could expect it to cost almost the same as the Realme GT 2 Pro. The phone is available in three colour variants – Wilderness, Snowfield, and Black Beach.

Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition details

The Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition has been designed by the Realme Design Studio in collaboration with Jae-Jung, a renowned fashion designer at The North Face, founder of Door, and previously designed for Ralph Lauren. The phone has those Travel Trunk elements but the back panel is made of vegan leather material.

Other than the design, there is some serious tech inside. The phone uses the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip that promises 15 percent overall power efficiency gains and 10 percent CPU power boost. The phone also gets a X7 Display chip that Realme says helps with “high frame rate and high-definition picture quality while ensuring low latency and low power consumption.” The chipset supports up to 4x frame rate interpolation. This is accompanied by LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 3.1 storage.

The phone also gets virtual shoulder triggers for gaming as well as a heat dissipation system for gaming. The HyperTouch Virtual triggers offer tactile feedback and even have notification LED lights embedded on the side of the phone. These triggers can also be customised.

Lastly, the Realme GT 2 Explorer Master Edition also gets a new GaN Fet charging solution that is claimed to reduce 85 percent of heat dissipation compared to the older system. This is accompanied by a 100W UltraDart charging solution that promises to recharge the 5000mAh battery from 0 to 100 percent in 25 minutes.

Other specs include a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120Hz and 360Hz touch sample rate with 100% DCI-P3 colours. The triple camera setup on the back has a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for the main camera, another 50MP camera for the 150-degree ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The front cameras as a 16MP sensor. The phone boots Realme UI 3 based on Android 12.
