Redmi 10X, Redmi 10X Pro smartphones with 5G launched

Redmi's first 5G smartphones are official in China.

Xiaomi has launched a new Redmi smartphone series in China. Redmi 10X series offers 5G support, quad camera setup and up to 8GB of RAM. The smartphone series also has two phones namely Redmi 10X and Redmi 10X Pro.

Redmi 10X comes in four storage variants with the base model (6GB+128GB) starting at CNY 1,599 ( ₹17,000 approx. Redmi 10X with 6GB+128GB and 8GB+128GB is priced at CNY 1,799 ( ₹19,100 approx) and CNY 2,099 ( ₹22,300 approx) respectively. Then there's the Redmi 10X with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage which retails at CNY 2,599 ( ₹27,600 approx).

As for the Pro version, there are two variants starting at CNY 2,399 ( ₹25,500 approx) for the 8GB+128GB model. The 8GB+256GB variant for Redmi 10X Pro carries a price tag of CNY 2,599 ( ₹27,000 approx).

Redmi 10X

Redmi 10X comes with a 6.57-inch full HD+ AMOLED display with HDR 10+ support. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek's Dimensity 820 processor which has a 5G chipset built-in. It also has liquid cooling and a game turbo mode.

For photography, Redmi 10X sports a 48-megapixel primary sensor, 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, and a 2-megapixel macro sensor at the rear. There's a 16-megapixel camera up front for selfies.

Redmi 10X is fuelled by a 4,520mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging. It also has an IP53 rating for dust and splash resistance.

Redmi 10X Pro also comes with almost the same set of specifications albeit differences in two areas.

The Pro version has a quad camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary sensor, an 8-megapixel wide-angle lens, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens and a 5-megapixel macro lens.

While it has the same 4,520mAh battery, the Redmi 10X Pro supports up to 33W fast charging. On the software front, both phones run MIUI 12 based on Android 10 out-of-the-box.

The Redmi 10X series will go on sale in China on June 1. There's no word on the global release including India for the Redmi 10X phones as yet.
