Redmi K30 Ultra is coming soon, key specifications revealed

Redmi K30 Ultra will run on a MediaTek processor instead of a Qualcomm one. The phone is expected to launch on August 14 alongside Redmi Watch.

Xiaomi is said to be working on a premium model of its Redmi K30 smartphone. Dubbed as Redmi K30 Ultra, the phone has made an appearance on China's TENAA certification website. The listing reveals key specifications and renders of the phone.

First, let's talk about design. The Redmi K30 Ultra does not look very different from other phones in the lineup. It has a circular camera module on the back, identical to Motorola's on old G-series phones. The camera sensors are placed diagonally like the fidget spinner. The rear panel will also have an LED flash.

As far as specifications go, Redmi K30 Ultra will utilise a MediaTek processor instead of Qualcomm's top-end Snapdragon 865 processor. The TENAA certification does not explicitly mention the MediaTek chip but confirms quad-core Cortex-A77 cores and quad-core Cortex A-55 cores. The processor is likely to be MediaTek's Dimensity 1000+, reports GSMArena.

According to reports, Redmi K30 Ultra will have up to 512GB storage, up to 12GB of RAM, and a large 6.67-inch full HD+ AMOLED display.

Redmi K30 Ultra will also have a 64-megapixel camera sensor. On the front, it will have a 20-megapixel pop-up selfie camera. Other expected features of the phone include a large 4,500mAh battery. The phone will also support 33W fast charging.

The phone is said to go official on August 14. Right now, there is no word on the availability of the phone outside the Chinese market.

Separately, Xiaomi is also planning to launch a smartwatch on the same date.
