Redmi Note 12 series has been shown off to the world ahead of its launch, along with some of the its features. The Redmi Note models have always been the most feature rich smartphones available at extremely low prices, and the next version in the series is no different. The Redmi Note 12 Pro versions have been revealed and the features are already seeming unbeatable. The range topping variant will be using a 200MP camera sensor – a first for a budget category focused smartphone.

The renders of the Redmi Note 12 Pro have been revealed, showing the design as well as the rear camera details. In these renders, the phone appears a lot like the Redmi K50i, albeit with flat sides and a glass rear. There will be a triple camera setup, with the main camera having a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor. Hence, this will be most likely the Redmi Note 12 Pro.

Redmi Note 12 series specs revealed

While the rest of the specs and features are hidden, Xiaomi also revealed what camera sensor will the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus feature. The phone will rely on the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HPX sensor, which is a lot more technically advanced than the previous 108MP camera sensor. The new sensor should result in much better quality images in both day and night situations. Additionally, it could allow the Redmi device to record 8K videos at 30 fps, if Redmi enables it.

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

So far, the 200MP camera sensor has been present only on two high-end smartphones. One comes from Xiaomi itself, called the Xiaomi 12T Pro, whereas the other one is the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra.

The Pro variants will also be using the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chip, which is a mildly updated variant of the Dimensity 920 chip from last year. Hence, performance should be identical to the Xiaomi 11i models.

What remains to be seen is whether Xiaomi brings it to India as the successor to the Xiaomi 11i Hypercharge, which was also based on Redmi Note 11 Pro Plus from last year. Other leaked features have confirmed that the 120W charging will come to the Redmi Note 12 Pro, whereas there will be a 210W wired charging solution on the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus.
