Samsung Galaxy M42 5G to launch in India on April 28

Samsung Galaxy M42 will be the first phone from the Galaxy M series to come with 5G support.

Samsung has made the launch of Galaxy M42 5G official. The ‘fastest monster' smartphone will launch in India on April 28. Galaxy M42 5G has been rumoured to launch in India soon, and it has now been confirmed. This will be the first 5G smartphone under Samsung's M series.

Amazon India has put up a microsite revealing the launch date of Galaxy M42 5G, and highlighting some of its details. In terms of design, Galaxy M42 5G has a square-shaped rear camera module housing four sensors. It also features a notch on top which would be an Infinity-U display. The smartphone will be powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 750G processor. Galaxy M42 5G is also confirmed to feature Knox Security, and Samsung Pay. There aren't any other details about the phone on the teaser page.

There have been leaks about the phone though so we have an idea on what to expect. Samsung Galaxy M42 5G is expected to pack a 6,000mAh battery, and it will have at least one variant with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The smartphone is also said to run Android 11 out-of-the-box. Its quad-camera setup will most likely have a 64-megapixel primary camera.

Rumours also suggest Galaxy M42 5G will be a rebranded version of the Galaxy A42 5G. Going by this speculation, we can expect Galaxy M42 5G to feature a 6.6-inch HD+ Super AMOLED display, 15W fast charging support and up to 6GB of RAM. Accompanying the 64-megapixel camera will most likely be an ultra wide angle lens, a depth sensor and a macro sensor.
