Following appearances on certification website and a set of alleged renders, Samsung Galaxy S21 has now been spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website. Sporting model number SM-G991U, Samsung Galaxy S21 is listed with a chipset dubbed as “Lahaina”, a codename for Qualcomm’s flagship chip Snapdragon 888. The listing reveals the phone has 8GB of RAM and runs on Android 11 (most likely One UI 3.0+). As expected, the benchmark listing reveals the performance of the phone as well. On single-core test, Galaxy S21 has bagged 1075 points. On multi-core test, it got 2916 points. As pointed out by GSMArena, the scores are not really mind-blowing. The website also adds that the company may offer performance through a range of software optimisations. As of now, it’s mere speculation what the performance of Samsung’s 2021 flagship would offer. Also read click here. That said, Samsung is planning to launch Galaxy S21 series much before than its usual timeline. You can expect the smartphone series to offer upgraded specifications, better camera performance, and improved design. Rumours suggest the top-end model, dubbed as Galaxy S21 Ultra, will have support for the stylus – a feature that has remained exclusive to the company’s Note series. A recent rumour claimed Samsung Galaxy S21 series would be cheaper than the Galaxy S20 series. Samsung Galaxy S21 is expected to be priced between $850 ( ₹62,500 approx) and $899 ( ₹66,100 approx), slightly cheaper than the starting price of S20’s $999 ( ₹73,500 approx). Separately, CAD renders of Samsung Galaxy S21 Plus have also surfaced online. According to renders, Galaxy S21+ will 161.55x75.6x7.86mm, making it larger than the rumoured size on the Galaxy S21 and just marginally bigger than the current Samsung Galaxy S20+.
