Samsung to reveal NEXT-GEN Galaxy Flip, Fold models before iPhone 14 launch
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event has been announced for the next generation of Galaxy Z Flip 3, Galaxy Z Fold 3 smartphones. Here are all the details.
Samsung is getting ready to unveil the successor to its next generation of foldable smartphones on August 10. The event, called the Galaxy Unpacked as usual, will take wraps off what is likely to be called the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. The event teaser already reveals what this phone is going to look like. Spoiler Alert! It looks almost the same as last year's Galaxy Z Flip 4, although Samsung is yet to show off how the Galaxy Z Fold 4 might look.
The teaser video shows off the Galaxy Z Flip 4 from the side, having a slim profile and doing its iconic fold action. Compared to the Flip 3, the Flip 4 is keeping the power-key mounted fingerprint scanner this year and it seems to have the same dual camera setup arrangement at the back. The phone has also been shown off in the familiar Samsung Lavender colour, but with more of a metallic sheen to it.

Rumours have it that the Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Galaxy Z Fold 4 will be mild iterative updates rather than generation leap over the Galaxy Z Flip 3 and Galaxy Z Fold 4. Samsung will come up with refinements mostly related to the form factor of the device. Hence, you could expect the devices to be slimmer, lighter and easier to manage when compared to the older models.
However, rumours also suggest that Samsung will bring the biggest upgrade to the Fold this year ever since the Fold 2 – a new aspect ratio. Leaked renders have also revealed the same, showing a broader Main Display. This could make a massive difference to the user experience, especially for those who yearn for a big screen experience. These phone are also expected to use the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset, just like the Galaxy S22 series devices.
