Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 2 might be waterproof devices
Samsung is scheduled to launch the third iteration of the Samsung Samsung Galaxy Z Fold and the second iteration of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip this year. Recent reports had it that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is not going to sport a dedicated S Pen slot and this is due to space constraints and water resistance issues. Now, a new report in SamMobile states that these devices are going to come with different water and dust protection ratings as compared to the Samsung Galaxy S21 series. The Samsung Galaxy S21 series comes with an IP68 rating. However, the SamMobile report does not mention what IP rating these new foldables are expected to come with.
These two new foldables, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 3 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2, rumour has it, should be unveiled in July this year. Recent leaks have told us that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 is going to come with a 7.5-inch internal screen (screen when unfolded) and a 6.2-inch outer display. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 2 is expected to come with a 6.7-inch internal main display and 1.83-inch outer display. The second-generation Flip 2 is also not expected to be very different from the older Samsung Galaxy Z Flip we’ve seen and it is expected to come with a 3,200mAh battery. The Galaxy Z Fold 3, on the other hand, is expected to come with a 4,380mAh battery, according to a leak. Samsung has made no official announcements about when these new foldables are going to be available, yet.
Besides these two smartphones, reports suggest that Samsung is going to launch a tablet with a foldable display which will reportedly be called the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Tab. Reports suggest that the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Tab is going to be a triple folding tablet and it is not going to be launched any time before the first quarter of 2022. This foldable tab is also expected to feature new ultra-thin glass, which, as per reports, maybe a “composite material” developed by Samsung to improve the flexibility and the durability of such material.
