This is the Asus ZenFone 9 that Asus did not want you to see (probably)
The Asus ZenFone 9 official marketing video has been leaked, showing a completely new design. Here are all the details.
Asus ZenFone 9 has leaked already in a new video! Just after Asus got done releasing the ROG Phone 6 and ROG Phone 6 Pro across its global markets, a marketing video of the Asus ZenFone 9 got leaked onto the internet. The ZenFone 9 is expected to be the successor to the Asus ZenFone 8, otherwise known as the Asus 8Z in India. While Asus and the rumour belt had yet to talk about it, this accidentally released video has given us all the idea about what Asus' next compact flagship will be like. Spoiler alert – it is winning hearts over the Internet.
The Asus ZenFone 9 in this video first spotted by a report from TechGoing suggests a radical design overhaul for the handset. Compared to the simpleton design that the Asus 8Z had, the ZenFone 9 goes for a minimalist design theme minus the camera hump; although the lens themselves protrude a lot. The overall aesthetics of the phone is certainly an attention seeker, although it remains to be seen how it all fares in the real world.
Asus ZenFone 9 leaks in latest video
The teaser video showcases some of the new features that could change the way we look at Asus' camera flagships. The ZenFone 9 will have the same cameras as the ROG Phone 6 – a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor for the main camera, and a secondary ultra-wide camera. The main camera will get a new 6-axis stabilization system that could come in handy for video recording.
Additionally, the phone will be powered by the same Snapdragon 8+Gen 1 chip as the ROG Phone 6. There will be a 4300mAh battery taking care of the power needs. It also gets a 120Hz display, although Asus does not clarify whether this is an OLED or LCD display. The phone also comes with a set of stereo speakers, IP68 certification for water and dust resistance, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Yes, Asus is still retaining the 3.5mm headphone jack on its 2022 flagship. This could end up being the only conventional flagship phone in the world to get a headphone jack.
The phone also gets a power-key mounted fingerprint sensor and Asus will offer something called a ZenTouch, which allows the fingerprint sensor to be used for scrolling pages.
