Vivo launches Y20SG with MediaTek Helio G80 SoC: Check full specs, features, price

The new Vivo handset comes with a 13-megapixel triple-rear camera setup. It also has a 5,000mAh battery.

Vivo has quietly launched a new smartphone under its Y-series. Called Y20SG, the handset is available in the Philippines for about $205 ( 15,300 approximately). The smartphone comes in Obsidian Black and Purist Blue colour options.

Vivo Y20SG measures 164.41×76.32×8.41mm and weighs around 192.3 grams. It has a 6.51-inch HD+ display with a 1600x 720 pixels resolution and LCD (IPS) panel. The phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

For performance, Vivo Y20SG relies on MediaTek's Helio G80 processor. It has 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The phone also comes with support for a microSD card for expandable storage. It packs a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. On the software front, it runs on Android-based Funtouch OS 11.

In the camera department, Vivo Y20SG has three sensors on the back. The setup consists of a 13-megapixel primary sensor, 2-megapixel sensor, and 2-megapixel sensor. On the front, it has an 8-megapixel camera. Some of the camera modes available on the phone are Portrait, Photo, Video, Panorama, Live Photo, Slo-mo, Time-Lapse, Professional, and Documents.

In terms of connectivity, the new handset supports a full slot (2 nano SIM + 1 microSD card), Bluetooth 5.0, micro USB and GPS among others.

Separately, Vivo is gearing up for the launch of its next flagship phone, Nex 5. According to rumours, the phone will come with a 6.78-inch quad-curve display that supports a 120Hz refresh rate. It may also have an under-display camera with a 32-megapixel sensor.

The Nex 5 could also come with a 4,500mAh battery along with 120W wired fast charging and 60W wireless fast charging. Leaks further state the handset could have an IP68 certification for dust and water resistance. The phone is likely to run on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 888 processor. There is no word on when the phone will officially launch.
