iPhone 14: Camera, battery to display, 6 things to know if you are eyeing a Christmas buy
Apple iPhone SE 4
1/6 In terms of design, the iPhone 14 fails to bring anything new to the table. It looks like a carbon-copy of the iPhone 13, just in a few new colors of Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple and Red.  (Akash/HT Tech)

2/6 The iPhone 14 features a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR display. While the screen refresh rate is set at 60Hz unlike 120Hz of the Pro models, the display is dynamic with a vivid color range and has wide viewing angles.   (Akash/HT Tech)

3/6 The iPhone 14 gets a dual rear camera setup with a 12MP primary camera and a 12MP ultrawide camera. The primary camera has a larger sensor than the iPhone 13 and boosted by the new Photonic Engine, can take sharp images.   (Akash/HT Tech)

6/6 The smartphone offers a decent battery life that lasts an entire day. However, charging speed is sluggish as it only offers support for 20W wired charging. The iPhone 14 is priced starting Rs. 79,900 for the 128GB variant. You can get it cheaper on ecommerce sites. (Akash/HT Tech)

All is not well in Apple land concerning the iPhone SE 4. (FRONT PAGE TECH)

The compact iPhone has many fans and they are all avidly waiting for Apple iPhone SE 4 launch. The device is powerful, has great cameras, is affordable, but above all, the entire package comes in compact form. It is small and appealing and reminds everyone of the iconic founder Steve Jobs design imprints.

However, all is not well in Apple land concerning the Apple iPhone SE 4. The reason is the Apple iPhone SE 3, which was launched in 2022, but sales have not picked up as expected, analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has claimed.

As a result, Apple is expected to take some drastic measures. Apple is expected to cancel or at least postpone the iPhone SE 4 until 2024, according to GSM Arena.

Not sure which
mobile to buy?

Apple will have to reevaluate its strategy and pricing especially as the iPhone SE 4 is expected to have a full-screen design. What does that translate into? A higher cost of production.

Scaling back and postponing the new phone would help reduce "unnecessary new product development expenses" and also help the company navigate "the challenges of the global economic recession in 2023", says Kuo.

So, what will the iPhone SE 4 look like? Well, early renders suggest that the smartphone will likely be called iPhone SE (2024). And, some fans may not like this, it will be based on the iPhone XR's design, reported GSM Arena.

Apple's 'X' generation smartphones had been the first adopters of Face ID as the sole method of biometric authentication, leaving behind the Touch ID. Now, the iPhone SE 4 is expected adopt that too.

The iPhone SE 4 launch is expected just ahead of spring and there are still 15 months until that time arrives.

Are there chances that the iPhone SE 4 will be scrapped entirely? The jury is still out on that simply because Apple has just 2 phone launches in the year. One is in Autumn to launch the latest iPhone series and the other is in spring for the iPhone SE. Would Apple like to disappear for the first three quarters of the year?
