Xiaomi is launching new Mi smartphones in India on April 23. The company will bring its flagship Mi 11 Ultra along with a new Mi 11X series. Mi 11 Ultra has already made its debut, while Mi 11X is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi K40 series. We now have more details on the upcoming Mi phones according to a new leak.
Mi 11 Ultra will launch in India in only one combination with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, according to tipster Mukul Sharma. The smartphone comes in two more RAM options of 8GB and 16GB in China. As for the Mi 11X series, there will be two phones including Mi 11X and Mi 11X Pro which will launch in 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB variants, respectively. Xiaomi is yet to confirm if these are actually the variants for its upcoming Mi phones.
Mi 11 Ultra is also tipped to cost over ₹70,000 in India according to a report by Gadgets 360. This would make the Mi 11 Ultra the most expensive Xiaomi phone in India till date. It also puts the Mi 11 Ultra's pricing close to the Galaxy S21 series and iPhone 12 series. The report adds that the initial units of the phone will be sourced from China which will lead to high import duty rates on its price.
Other than its flagship specifications, the highlight of Mi 11 Ultra is its secondary 1.1-inch AMOLED Always On display at the back. This screen works as a viewfinder for the rear camera, and it also displays call notifications, time, battery level and more. It also has a 6.81-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display up front with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. The smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor. Mi 11 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging, 67W wireless charging and 10W reverse charging.
