Xiaomi Redmi Note 9 Pro gets MIUI 12 update in India

Redmi Note 9 Pro is the latest Xiaomi phone in India to receive the latest MIUI 12 update.

Xiaomi launched its latest MIUI 12 update in India last month. It also announced the first batch of smartphones that will receive MIUI 12, and the process started last month itself. Redmi Note 9 Pro is the latest phone in India to receive the new MIUI 12 update.

Xiaomi has already rolled out MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 Pro and Mi 10 in India. Rest of the Xiaomi phones confirmed to receive this update include Redmi Note 9, Redmi Note 8, Redmi Note 7, and Redmi Note 7 Pro. On the Redmi Note 9 Pro, MIUI 12 is available as V12.0.1.0.QJWINXM, and it's an over-the-air (OTA) update. Redmi Note 9 Pro users should receive a notification on the new update. It can also be manually checked by going to the settings menu under software update. MIUI 12 for Redmi Note 9 Pro was first spotted by Piunika Web.

MIUI 12 comes with a host of new features and visual changes. It has new animations for apps which are said to be faster and more fluid. Dark mode has also been improved with new features like wallpaper dimming and font adjustment. Xiaomi has also added an always-on display feature along with floating windows for small app reviews. MIUI 12 also comes with privacy and security features, and the stock Android 10 gesture navigation system is also finally available.

Redmi Note 9 Pro launched in India earlier this year. The smartphone starts at 13,999 for the base model with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It also comes with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, and this variant costs 16,999.
