ZTE is very much alive and is continuing its streak of launching smartphone outside India. This time it's the ZTE Axon 20 5G, which will launch on September 1 as confirmed by the company on Twitter. This is said to be the first mass produced smartphone in the world to feature an in-display camera. We have seen the concept by other brands but it looks like ZTE is finally making it a reality. It has even mentioned it on the Twitter post that Axon 20 5G will be the “World's First Under-display Camera Smartphone.” The pricing and availability will only be known once the device is out on September 1.

Although the specifications are not out, its previous Tenaa listing along with rumours and leaks have revealed quite a bit. The ZTE Axon 20 5G is expected to feature a 6.92-inch (1,080x2,460 pixels) OLED display and powered by an unspecified octa-core CPU. There might be three variants based on the RAM capacities - 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB along with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage versions.

In addition, the smartphone may feature four rear cameras consisting of a 64-megapixel primary sensor + 8-megapixel sensor and a couple of 2-megapixel cameras. The front camera will be placed under the screen and is supposed to have a 32-megapixel sensor. It could be backed by a 4120mAh battery.

While ZTE is all set to bring an in-display camera in smartphones, another Chinese tech firm Huawei is reportedly working on launching an all-screen fingerprint sensor tech along with an in-display camera. The firm has confirmed this and says that this tech may take a generation or two to reach the masses.
