Room for Improvement
Wireless Charging In a strange move for 2026, the Edge 60 drops the 15W wireless charging that was present in the Edge 50. While the battery is larger, the loss of "cable-free" convenience feels like a step back for a series that usually pushes for "all-in" features.
Storage Type Both phones still utilize UFS 2.2 storage. In an era where UFS 3.1 or 4.0 is becoming common in the mid-range, this causes a slight bottleneck when installing large apps or moving massive 4K video files.
Autofocus While the Edge 60 upgrades the selfie resolution to 50MP, it curiously loses the Autofocus (AF) that was found on the Edge 50’s 32MP sensor. This means your "vlogging" or close-up selfies might actually be sharper on the older model.
Is the Upgrade Really Worth It?
correct if you prioritize display and endurance. The Edge 60 is a significant jump in outdoor visibility with its 4500-nit screen—making it one of the brightest mid-range phones ever. It also adds a much-needed 500mAh extra battery capacity and a significantly better 50MP ultrawide camera, which captures much more detail for landscape shots. Plus, the IP69 rating means it can survive high-pressure, high-temperature water jets.
minus f you want wireless charging and a more balanced selfie camera. If you already own the Edge 50, the performance jump to the Dimensity 7400 is noticeable but not life-changing for everyday tasks. You’re also getting a lighter, slightly thinner device with the convenience of wireless charging and selfie autofocus, which are missing on the newer model.
