Mi 10: 108-megapixel camera samples, and a rainbow

We’re currently reviewing Mi’s new premium phone, Mi 10. The smartphone is packed with high-end specifications such as Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 865 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.0, and 3D curved E3 AMOLED display. One of the standout features of Mi 10 is the camera. Before we publish our detailed review including our verdict on the camera performance, let’s take a look at some camera samples from the Mi 10 in different light conditions. Note these images have been resized for the web.

The 108-megapixel camera has a 1/1.33-inch large sensor size, optical image stabilisation, 1.6um, f/1.69 aperture, and 7P lens.

The 108-megapixel photos have come out very sharp and crisp in daylight condition. On the AMOLED display, the images look more vibrant.

Image processing in the 108-megapixel camera mode is quite fast. This is unlike the 48-megapixel and 64-megapixel cameras we’d seen in some of the mid-range phones lately.

Another surprise is the wide-angle performance. There’s no fisheye like effect to ruin frames that have vertical items.

Here is a non-108-megapixel photo taken from the Mi 10. In this shot, Mi 10 has done well to strike a balance between the foreground (which has dark shadows, almost silhouette-like) and background (which doesn’t have warmer colours).

Mi 10’s low light performance, though not fully tested, doesn’t look up to the mark. The sharpness seen in the daylight shots is completely missing in this image. This is not our final verdict. Stay tuned for our detailed review.
