Aadhaar card verification online: UIDAI has tweeted that no Aadhaar card should be accepted on face value and that people should actually verify it to stop fraudsters.

Aadhaar card has become a huge target for fraudsters who are looking to steal these IDs to take advantage of so many services that can be availed on its basis. In this regard, it is very important for everyone to verify their Aadhaar card immediately and not just that, they should not accept any such card from anyone as identity proof without first verifying it.

UIDAI Aadhaar Card warning: The process is very easy. In this regard, UIDAI has taken to Twitter to raise awareness in the public about it and tweeted an alert that everyone should follow. The tweet said, "#BewareOfFraudsters Any Aadhaar is verifiable online/offline. To verify offline, scan the QR code on #Aadhaar. To verify online, enter the 12-digit Aadhaar on the link: https://resident.uidai.gov.in/verify." For those who want to do it via an application, there is another option available. UIDAI tweet said, "You can also do it using the #mAadhaar app."

Aadhaar Card service contacts: Contact Over and above that, if anyone is facing any other issue regarding their Aadhaar card, the graphic tweeted by UIDAI also carries the telephone numbers that can be called to sort it out. The legend on the graphic says "For any assistance/query: Call 1947 (Toll-free) or email at help@uidai.gov.in" It has also provided all the Aadhaar card-related social media handles where the public can keep itself updated about the latest news on the issue.

Aadhaar as identity proof: Another tweet by UIDAI on July 8, warned everyone about not accepting any Aadhaar card without verifying it first. The tweet read, "All 12-digit numbers are not Aadhaar. It is recommended that the Aadhaar should be verified before accepting it as identity proof."

The same can be done easily online and UIDAI also provided the website to go to for the purpose. It said, "Click: https://resident.uidai.gov.in/verify and verify it online in 2 simple steps."

Here is how you can easily verify an Aadhaar card online from the comfort of your home:

1. Go to official UIDAI website - https://resident.uidai.gov.in/verify

2. Type in the 12-digit Aadhaar card number very carefully.

3. Type in the Captcha.

4. 'Proceed to Verify' option will open. Click on it

The Aadhaar card will be authenticated by the system, or rejected depending on its status.
