Aadhaar, PAN, EPFO Link online: Here is some good news for you from UIDAI
Aadhaar, PAN, EPFO Link online: As deadlines loom to link Aadhaar with PAN and EPFO, UIDAI has made an important announcement.
Aadhaar, PAN, EPFO Linking: People have been reportedly facing problems to link their Aadhaar card, PAN and EPFO IDs. However, the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has denied reports of outages with the online facility to link Aadhaar with PAN and EPFO accounts, as the government's latest deadline to link these documents approaches. The statutory authority stated that services were ‘stable', and that it had recently performed a security upgrade on its systems.
In a press statement issued by the authority on Saturday, the UIDAI stated the authentication-based facility that allows users to link their Aadhaar with their PAN or EPFO accounts online, had not suffered any outages and that all its services were stable. The authority was responding to a few reports that stated the system was facing outages, adding that they were “not accurate” in the statement.

“There have been no outages in the Aadhaar – PAN/EPFO linking facility. All its services are stable and functioning fine,” the UIDAI tweeted. According to the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO), account holders must link their Aadhaar with their PF account by August 31, to receive employer's contribution to their provident fund. Meanwhile, the deadline to link PAN with Aadhaar has been extended again until September 30.
Meanwhile, the UIDAI also stated that it had performed an ‘essential security upgrade' in a phased manner over the past week, which meant that there were a few service interruptions that were only reported at some enrolment/update centres. After the upgradation process was completed, these issues have also been resolved, according to UIDAI. However, it also added that even though the system had stabilised, it was continuing to monitor the functioning to ensure that residents would not be inconvenienced.
The authority also sought to provide details of the recent operations that have taken place over the past week. “It may be noted that more than 51 lakh residents have been enrolled in last 9 days since the beginning of the upgradation process on 20th August 2021 at an average of 5.68 lakh enrolment per day while authentication transactions have taken place as usual on an average of more than 5.3 crore authentications per day,” the UIDAI explained in the statement.
