After Redmi Note 7S, Xiaomi set to launch Redmi K20 with premium specs
Xiaomi’s Redmi K20 is set to debut on May 28. The phone is set to take on OnePlus 7 Pro with a 48-megapixel Sony camera and Snapdragon 855 chipset.
Xiaomi is set to launch a new smartphone in China on May 28. Powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, new Redmi K20 will compete with the likes of OnePlus 7 Pro, Huawei P30 and other premium phones. Xiaomi is expected to launch the phone in India as well.
If launched, it will be third Xiaomi phone in India with 48-megapixel rear camera. The company today launched Redmi Note 7S with 48-megapixel dual rear cameras.
Ahead of the official launch, Xiaomi posted an official tease on its Weibo account. Xiaomi hasn't disclosed the full specifications of its new flagship Redmi phone yet but it's expected to sport Sony's IMX586 48-megapixel sensor. Redmi K20 is expected to come with three rear cameras and a pop-up selfie camera.
Specifications and features of Redmi K20 are quite similar to rumoured Redmi X. The phone was expected to launch this month but evidently hasn't gone official yet. According to reports, Redmi K20 aka Redmi X will come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. It could feature a 6.39-inch full HD+ display, and run on MIUI 10 based Android Pie. The triple-camera setup is said to feature 48-megapixel, 8-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensors.
Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing has already confirmed that the Redmi K20 will be the cheapest device with Snapdragon 855. Meanwhile, there are rumours that Xiaomi will unveil two variants of Redmi K20. One could be the standard Redmi K20 and the other will be the Pro variant. Another report suggests that the Redmi K20 Pro will come to India as Poco F2.
