Airtel prepaid recharge plans: Airtel has discontinued three prepaid plans from its official website. These include the ₹279 and ₹179 recharge plans and the ₹45 Smart Recharge pack. In addition to the basic offers, these Airtel prepaid plans came with a Bharti AXA life insurance cover. Even as it discontinued these 3 plans, Airtel has launched a new ₹128 Smart Recharge pack. Airtel has updated its website confirming the discontinuation of these prepaid plans.

Airtel ₹279, ₹179 and ₹45 prepaid recharge plans

Airtel no longer offers the ₹279 and ₹179 recharge plans, and the ₹45 Smart Recharge pack, according to a report by OnlyTech. As to the question about what these plans were offering, then know that the ₹279 Airtel prepaid recharge plan provided truly unlimited calling on any network, and 100 SMS per day. It also offered 1.5GB of daily data, and its validity was for 28 days. In addition to this, the ₹279 Airtel prepaid recharge plan offered four-week courses at Shaw Academy, Wynk Music premium, ₹4 lakh worth of HDFC Life insurance and premium content on Airtel Xstream.

Airtel alternative: ₹249 prepaid plan

An alternative to the ₹279 recharge plan is the ₹249 prepaid recharge plan. It comes with similar benefits minus the insurance offer. Airtel users will get 1.5GB data per day, and 100 SMS per day for 28 days. It also offers Airtel Xstream, free HelloTunes on Wynk Music, one month access to Amazon Prime Video, and ₹150 cashback on FASTag transactions.

Airtel alternative: ₹298 prepaid plan

The second plan discontinued is the ₹179 prepaid plan that offered ₹2 lakh worth of Bharti AXA life insurance, 2GB of data, 300 SMS with a validity period of 28 days. It also comes with unlimited calling. Those looking for alternative plans with 2GB data per day can opt for the ₹298 prepaid plan that also comes with 28 days of validity.

Airtel alternative: ₹128 prepaid plan

In the Smart Recharge pack category, Airtel has removed the ₹45 pack and added one priced at ₹128. This Airtel recharge plan doesn't offer any talktime or data benefits. It brings local and STD calling to 2.5 paise per second and SMS at Re 1 and ₹1.5 respectively. The ₹128 Smart Recharge pack has a validity of 28 days.
