Alacatel One Touch Idol 4S packaging is also a virtual reality headset
Alcatel’s upcoming OneTouch Idol 4S smartphone will ship in a plastic box that doubles as a VR viewer

Alactel has devised a clever strategy to make optimum usage of smartphone packaging. VentureBeat reports about the upcoming Alacatel One Touch Idol 4S smartphone which will apparently ship in a box that doubles itself as a virtual reality (VR) headset. It essentially works in the same way as any smartphone compatible VR headsets would, with a slot to hold the phone and two lenses through which you see all the action happening. Not something really high-end, but anyways a clever twist to smartphone packaging and get users to start watching VR content.
The Idol 4S smartphone also isn't some flagship device. It gets mid-range specifications such as a 5.5-inch screen and a Snapdragon 652 processor and is expected to launch sometime in May. Anyways, the inclusion of a VR viewer in the smartphone's packaging itself is something that will set it apart from the competition.
