Amazon Alexa can now tell you where you can get Covid-19 vaccines
Amazon Alexa can now tell users where they can find Covid-19 vaccination sites. The voice assistant can help users to connect with websites for the Covid-19 vaccine, check for availability and also schedule appointments. Amazon has updated Alexa with information about vaccine availability and eligibility for more than 85 countries.
Users can now ask questions like “Alexa, where can I get a COVID vaccine?” or “Alexa, where can I get a COVID vaccine in Seattle?” Alexa will provide a list of nearby locations where Covid-19 vaccines are available. In addition to this, users can also ask Alexa to “call the first one” from the list to connect to a specific location.
Amazon Alexa is available in multiple devices, and smartphones as well. Amazon Alexa can also be asked about Covid-19 testing centres. Users can ask “Alexa, where can I get tested for COVID-19?” to find nearby locations where they can get tested for Covid-19. Even for testing, users can ask Alexa to call the phone number provided for the location.
“Customers have continuously turned to Alexa for accurate and timely information about COVID-19. In fact, in the last year, Alexa has answered tens of millions of questions related to COVID-19 from customers around the world,” Amazon said in a blog.
Google also updated Maps recently with locations of Covid-19 vaccination centres. Users can search for Covid-19 vaccination centres on Google Maps, and it will display all the nearby locations. Google Maps will also inform users whether the location is open or closed.
