Amazon calls truce with Google, to sell Chromecast on its e-commerce platform
Google earlier this month had threatened to remove its YouTube app from Amazon Echo Show and Fire TV.

Amazon is finally going to sell Google Chromecast and Apple TV on its e-commerce platform, the company said on Thursday.
The e-commerce giant had removed the video-streaming devices from its e-commerce website in 2015. The company had then explained the move by saying it wanted to avoid confusing customers who might expect its Prime Video service to be available on those devices sold by Amazon.
"We are in productive discussions with Amazon to reach an agreement for the benefit of our mutual customers. We hope we can reach an agreement to resolve these issues soon," a Google spokesperson said.
Apple, in the meanwhile, said last week that Prime Video would come to Apple TV, mending its ties with Amazon.
The latest announcement comes after Google threatened to remove its YouTube application from Amazon's Echo Show and Fire TV. The feud between the two tech giants had raised fears of a new round of bitter rivalry in the technology industry. Already, Apple and Qualcomm are locked in a legal tussle. It was also speculated that the Google-Amazon feud would put customers in the crossfire.
"Amazon doesn't carry Google products like Chromecast and Google Home, doesn't make (its) Prime Video available for Google Cast users, and last month stopped selling some of (our sister company) Nest's latest products," Google had said earlier this month.
Amazon quickly responded to the announcement saying, "Google is setting a disappointing precedent by selectively blocking customer access to an open website."
