Google is all set to launch the Google Assistant Driving Mode soon which should get Android users excited, but on the side Android Auto is preparing its own driving mode with custom shortcuts to Assistant contacts and actions, reports 9to5Google.
On Android Auto, you can access certain Google Assistant routines like Calender and News. To use these you can run a preset query and the Assistant responds audibly. The latest update to Android Auto, version 5.7, Google is going to allow you to save your most common queries for the Google Assistant and make them easily accessible in the launcher itself.
As per the screenshots shared by XDADevelopers, users can fill in the exact command to make it appear in the Android Auto launcher.
Assistant shortcuts in Android Auto will get a simple icon based on the first letter of your custom label. All these custom routines should allow one-tap access to more Google services as well as smart home-related actions like adjusting your Nest Thermostat to be at just the right temperature when you head home at the end of the day.
