In the face of criticism over the new iPad's battery charging method and over-heating problem, Apple has stated that battery of the latest tablet performs within the normal parameters of an iOS-based device.
Apple VP Michael Tchao told AllThingsD, 'That circuitry is designed so you can keep your device plugged in as long as you would like,' Tchao said. 'It's a great feature that's always been in iOS.'
Some users and reviewers previously reported that the new iPad heats up more than the iPad 2, and they blamed the battery for it.
'It appears to have gone largely unnoticed until this latest generation iPad, when DisplayMate analyst Ray Soneira noted that his testing showed the iPad not fully charged when it displayed 100 percent,' Tchao told AllThingsD.
He also reassured users that no matter where in that cycle a battery is, owners can expect the 10 hours of battery life that Apple has promised.
