Asus Zenfone 6 to launch on May 16, could feature dual-slider design
Asus Zenfone 6 could launch with Snapdragon 855 chipset, dual-slider design, and a quad-camera setup. The launch event of Asus Zenfone 6 will take place on May 16 in Valencia, Spain.
Asus is prepping to launch its next flagship smartphone, Zenfone 6 on May 16 in Valenica, Spain. The upcoming Asus flagship smartphone received FCC certification revealing some key specifications.
Asus Zenfone 6, according to the FCC listing, will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. It also reveals that Asus Zenfone 6 will offer dual-SIM slots, and a dual-camera setup. The dual cameras on the Zenfone 6 will be placed vertically with a fingerprint sensor placed just below. This however contradicts leaked renders of Zenfone 6 with a dual-slider design.
More details from the FCC listing include support for 18W charging on the Zenfone 6. The same is available on its predecessor, Zenfone 5Z. These details don't show a major upgrade from the Zenfone 5Z except for the chipset. Leaks however suggest otherwise.
Leaked renders of Zenfone 6 show a notch-less design with a true edge-to-edge display. The smartphone is in fact seen with a slider design housing dual cameras in the front and back. There's a slider at the bottom which houses Harman speakers.
Asus Zenfone 6 also made its way to benchmarking website, AnTuTu. According to the listing, Zenfone 6 will launch with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. The smartphone's display will have a resolution of 1080x2340 pixels and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Zenfone 6 will also come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB.
Asus will be launching its flagship smartphone a year after the Zenfone 5Z. Launched at ₹29,999, Asus Zenfone 5Z competed directly with OnePlus 6. The smartphone comes with a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display, Snapdragon 845 chipset, and a 3,300mAh battery.
