Bing News - a customizable current affairs application which pulls in content from sources such as Gizmodo, The Guardian and others. Users of the app can see the 'top stories' from around the world, view stories by news source and watch video reports from around the world.

Bing Sports - again a customizable application, Bing Sports allows users to fully personalize their sports news, reconfiguring the app to place more emphasis on one sport than another and even track individual teams across leagues.

Bing Weather - Bing Weather enables users to see what the weather is like in their location, including information such as wind, humidity and historical trends. Thanks to an interactive map of their wider geographical area, users can also see the movement of weather fronts over the following 24 hours.

Bing Finance - Bing Finance enables users to track the performance of various shares, read news about the related company and even receive live updates on the performance of their stock. Breaking business news is also pushed to the app from sources such as Bloomberg, CNBC and Fox Business.

According to a recent report by the International Data Corporation, in the second quarter of 2013 a total of 236.4 million smartphones were shipped, representing a 51.3 % rise from the 156.2 million shipped in the same period the previous year.
The report found that Windows Phones experienced the biggest (77.6%) increase in market share from the same period as last year, now accounting for 3.7 % of the market. However, in comparison Android devices accounted for a 79.3 % share of the market over the same quarter, while Apple saw the iPhone slip to 13.2 % -- down from the 16.6 % share it had enjoyed over the same period the previous year.
